Whilst the Northern Hemisphere is sipping on mulled wine and cider around the fire, those of us sweltering in Australia definitely need a different kind of beverage to celebrate the holiday season! Read on for our pick of the best Christmas inspired cocktails and mocktails.


Fruity Iced Tea

When summer comes to Australia, the only kind of tea we will be drinking is the iced kind! T2 Teas offer a wide variety of teas that are suitable to serve cold. Pick your favourite flavour, we recommend strawberries and cream or anything fruity. Brew the tea with a strainer in a large jug, with hot water for 5 minutes. Then place in the fridge to cool. Spiced Wine Punch

Just because it’s too hot for mulled wine, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the spiced and citrus flavours of a white Christmas.

Over a pan stir brown sugar, star anise, cinnamon, cloves, citrus rind (orange and lemon) with 1/2 a cup of water in a pan over low heat. The amount of spice you would like to use is really up to your own personal taste, so start with a small amount and you can always add more. Bring to the boil, and then simmer over medium heat for 2 minutes until syrupy. Cool in the fridge.

The next step is the strain the syrup to get rid of the solids. Add in your Cointreau and 1 bottle of red wine. When you’re ready to serve, chop up oranges and add ice! This recipe is thanks to taste.com.au


White Wine Sangria

Much like the Spiced Wine Punch, this recipe calls to make a syrup over medium heat. Stir the sugar, ½ cup of water, 1 vanilla bean, and cinnamon until the syrup has thickened. Place in the fridge to chill. In a large jug, combine the syrup, 2 bottles of your favourite white wine (Riesling is nice and sweet), lemon and lime juice, mint and of course lots of ice! Rosemary, Citrus and Cranberry Cocktails

If you’re a fan of rosemary then this cocktail is perfect for you as it ties in nicely with your Christmas roast! You can pair it with gin or vodka and plenty of cranberry juice.

Combine the vodka, equal parts orange and cranberry juice and fresh rosemary in a jug. If you feel like making this recipe a little gourmet, you can buy fresh cranberries and add them to the mix.
