Important Holiday Settlement Notice; from our settlements team

21 Nov 2025

As we approach the festive season, our Settlements Team would like to highlight a few important dates and reminders to ensure we can service your needs seamlessly.

Holiday closure dates impacting settlements

Please note the following public holidays and how they affect settlement timings:

  • Christmas Day – Thursday, 25 December 2025
  • Boxing Day – Friday 26 December 2025
  • New Year’s Day – Thursday, 1 January 2026

Because of these holidays, no settlements can take place between Thursday 25 December through Thursday 1 January 2026.

If your current contract has a settlement date that falls within this “excluded settlement period”, the new settlement date will fall on the next business day, which is Friday 2 January 2026

In addition, for transactions in Western Australia: the Revenue WA public counter will be closed from 4.30pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025, reopening at 8:30 am on Friday 2 January 2026.

What you can do to prepare

As a business we are currently reviewing all contracts to ensure dates do not fall during the closure period.

Still, we recommend you do the following;

  • Review any contracts with settlement dates between the above closure dates.
  • For Western Australia transactions, if you need to visit the Revenue WA public counter in person, attend before close of business on the 24th of December
  • Ensure all documentation and approvals are finalised ahead of the shutdown period, late in the year activity can raise unexpected delays.
  • Communicate to all parties the adjusted timelines so everyone is aligned and expectations are managed.

Our commitment to our clients

If you are settling a property through us, our team remains dedicated during the lead-in to the holidays to coordinate and prepare all necessary work in advance.

Though the public counter and official services will be closed over the holiday period, we will continue preparing in the background to pick up diligently on Friday, January 2nd 2026
