Styling your hallway
Styling your hallway
26 Feb 2019
Whether you have a grand entrance room, or a small nook between the front door and the living room, it's important to set the tone for your home as soon as guests walk in.
▪️ MAKE IT FUNCTIONAL
A buffet or console could double as some simple storage for items like umbrellas, keys, notes or other small items you tend to grab on the way out the door. Not enough space? Try adding some wall shelving with baskets, which will keep things neat and tidy.
▪️DON'T GO OVERBOARD
Clutter can be a bit of an eye sore, so it's best to keep things simple and clean. Too many statement pieces or bits and bobs not contained neatly will make the area feel smaller but also create a messy vibe for your home.
▪️KEEP IT LIGHT
Use mirrors, lighting and bright pieces to keep the light flowing. A home is often more welcoming when it is brightly lit. Adding table, floor or wall lamps are perfect for those darker hallways that don't have the benefit of natural light.
▪️ADD YOUR PERSONALITY
Hallways are perfect for adding some personality into your home. If you're lucky enough to have a long hallway, adding artwork or photos is a great way to reflect what you're about!
Your hallway is the entrance to your home, which means it should be priority when styling your home. Work with what you've got and have fun with it!
